ls engine

Default ls engine

ok i wanna stick to an ls platform and mine has 150k on it(hearing some clanks

should i

A.rebuild it
B.buy another ls then hook it up

Define "clanks". And it's USUALLY cheaper to just find another longblock than to have someone rebuild it. I'd get another one for now and build yours for boost, maybe Ls/Vtec built for boost. Though i'm not a fan of the Ls/Vtec myself.

engine runs fine,had it checked out but when i start up i hear a clanking sound underneath....im thinking its either the engine or my cat convertor loose or exhuast.........the ls/vtec seems like a lil more trouble then i wanna go thru

Id spend the money to rebuild bigger and better then to by a new one and be stuck in the same, slow, situation....

Well if there's nothing wrong with it then don't worry about it yet. Drive it until it blows up.

Buy an LS longblock for nothing, you can get them for like $300.

Pull your motor that you have now and rebuild it for whatever you wanna do, nitrous, turbo, all motor when you have the $$ and time.
