Heres the deal. I have a 93 dx turbo hatch. I had no problems with the dx engine. I put a y8 intake manifold on and still ran great. Then I put the 97 y8 head on and now it runs like shit. I did everything you are supposed to do to put that head on. It idles high like around 12-1500, has a horrible lag and at around 7-10psi it backfires loud as hell. WTF!!!!!!! Has anyone ever had this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

did you adjust the timing?

 

I had the same problem on my mini me turbo... it was my cam timing, I took it back a tooth on the cam gear and it worked like a champ. Good luck -Ben
