Default ITR cams on a 2000 Si

I've been tossing around the idea of getting a set for my dad's Si. would this be a reliable setup on stock retainers and springs??? any help is appreciated! and also, i've heard different years have different grinds, any idea which is the best year or if this is even true? thanks!

Use 00 spec ctr/itr cams with itr inner & outer valve springs & retainers.

Some cam gears will help out some also for tuning purposes (more mid range power).

Oem parts kick butt

If you want to go aftermarket I recommend skunk2 stage 1 cams & factory itr valve springs or skunk2 valve springs etc...
Toda makes good stuff but its too pricey.

this is what i was thinking too. would the stock valvetrain hold up though? or would it eventually give out and float a valve?

and +1 on the OEM parts

Stock b16 valve train will hold. But obviously there is a reason that Acura/Honda installed a different valve train in the ITR

I personally wouldnt run b16 valve springs on ITR or aftermarket cams.

Titanium retainers are a RACE product, they wear & eventually can fail. OEM retainers are fine.

I have Skunk2 Stage 1s on MY stock valvetrain, no problems here.

Edit: I've had them for two years.

Good for you Vito

Would that be skunk2 stage 1's on stock b16 valvetrain or ITR valve train, just woundering...
Skunk2 stage 1s on a OEM itr valvespring setup would be fine IMO.

Some people go cheap & run oem b16 valvesprings on itr/ctr/aftermarket cams. I personally wouldnt take any chances on a OEM b16 valvetrain.
