Default o2 sensor?

Can you drive around without an o2 sensor?
I'm buying a header off a guy but it dosen't have an o2 sensor bung in it wich i need.
so can i drive around with it unhooked until i can get an o2 sensor bung welded on?

thanx guys

you can but your car will run like ass at idle, < 20mph, and when you're at less than 25% throttle......

As long as your air flow and throttle position sensors are working properly, you will be fine. You will probably lose the hp that the header will give you though due to a slightly off air/fuel mixture. Also, you'll lose some fuel economy.

ya u can man, i have that same prob in my b16a rex lol it sputters all day long, need a bung welded in my header and to hook that o2 sensor up.. ull be throwing a code 1 too for the oxygen sensor dont worry about that, also if u smell gas dont worry about that either, it does no damage to ur car, it jus is embarrassing to sputter ur way down the road happy motering lol

for all intent and purpose, yeah you can run fine without an o2 sensor.... mine idles, accelerates just fine.... you will just be running at a preset fuel curve where your ecu has an 'open loop' mode where it controls the injectors rather than a continuois air/fuel ratio

for best results get it wired as soon as you can

<---- No O2 sensors. Runs fine. I'm sure i could get better gas mileage with them though, and be SLIGHTLY quicker.
