it will probably be equal though to the h22 b/c if you put a vtec head on non vtec block = highercompression, and 2.2 on a 2.3 = lower compression....it all equals out about....

Dear god.. are some of you people even capable of rational thought?!
Many of these have been done, they are a bad idea because the H23 bottom end never seems to hold up for more then 6 months.
Just because it's a VTEC head does not mean it will have higher compression. Then a Non-VTEC head. It is because of the combustion chamber volume. Bigger volume, LESS compression. Lower volume, HIGHER compression.
It is not any better for turbo then anything else, except for having lower compression, which helps out slightly against detonation.

you are all, except crix, talking out of your asses... vtec, non-vtec, and displacment have nothing to do with the compression a head/block combo will produce... if you dont believe me look at it like this... take a GSR and an SI...
b18c1 and b16a2
lets look at these...
b18c1 is 10.2:1 and 1.8L
b16a2 is 10.4:1 and 1.6L
if i take the B16 head and put it on the B18 block it will now make my compression 10.0:1
and if i do the oposite, B18 head with B16 block i will then have 10.6:1
this is just to show you that these things dont necessarily directley effect compression...
