Default weird problems

this shit just started happening today.

1st problem: i've seen a hundred posts on here about idle problems, but mine seems to be different. when the car is sitting still at idle, nothing it wrong. and when im cruising down the road nothing is wrong. but if im sitting still and give it some gas, and i raise the RPMs to 1500, the idle starts jumping up and down. i've seen previous posts about this, i just didnt know if i have the same problem seeing as it only does it if im in nuetral and raise the rpms. if i dont touch the gas pedal it doent do it.

2nd problem: when i give the car some gas it jerks me back in my seat and when i let off the gass, the car jerks hard like i slamed on the brakes. it only started doing this shit today. i was driving home in a traffic jam today and needless to say it wasnt very fun. broken mount maybe?

oh, and both these problems seem to get worse with the A/C on.

sounds like the iac is going bad, I believe I have an extra laying around. I'll check and get back to you. You can bypass this as I did with my h22.

you can remove it and fill with jb weld, you can remove and make a plate for it, etc. Then just zip tie it out of the way. Car will idle fine. Make sure you keep it plugged in otherwise you'll have serious idle problems.

bump!!

Also wanted to throw my issues in here as well Seems to be related. I got a 94 Del Sol. 57K Miles. It ws sitting for 2 years when I bought it back in Dec.

When I first got it, I hard some start up and idle problems, had to hold the gas for 5 minutes before it would idle on its own. That went away after using the car for 2 weeks. (I guessed the IAC was lil stuck form sitting) Fast forward now to last week.

Wife let the car run down to almost E, it started sputtering bad on startup (cool car), and idled better as it got hot. I ended up changing the fuel filter (is was nastier than nasty with rust-oxiude). Also changed plug wires and rotor, I hadnt done that since picking up the car.

The car starts fine (coold) and idles erratically, kinda like a plug is dead. From a stop it stumbles bad, until I get over 2200RPM then the car moves.

I have verified I get good solid spark. (timing could be off, need to get a gun), but I wanted to know if this could be a fueling issue? Or more towards that IAC valve?
Again, only happens at IDLE, and below 2.2K.

cali, that is most likely your IACV, take it off and spray it with some brake parts cleaner, then slap it back on.

also if the car sat that long, im hoping you drained the old gas out of the tank and filled back up before driving... gas sitting in a tank tends to turn to sludge after a while..... i would run a complete fuel system cleaner and engine flush as well as new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires... and just go over everything to get her back up to par

Thanks so far!

Is *seems* better. Cleaned out the IACV.
Where is the IDLE adjustment screw on this damn thing?
My 98 had a idle screw on the TB. On this, I dont see one. I need to get a gun on it and check timing.
Also, what does it feel like it the timing belt skipped???

it will run like the IACV is clogged the idle screw should be on the TB, since it's D-series it may be in a different location....., should still be on the TB though.
