Y80 transmission
is this only a code for a gsr tranny, or could it be a ls, i wnat to bid on a transmission on ebay, and its a y80...

i believe there is an y80 gsr and an y80 LS, depending on the year, gsr also has an S80

i know my ls tranny i have now is s80.... and this y80 is said to be from a 1996.... im just trying to make sure i dont buy a ls tranny

y80 is really just a bseries case code... it wont really tell you much...

the tranny is usdm, the guy says its off a 96.... he doesnt know what car tho... i just dont want another ls tranny on my gsr.... its sloowww as hell....

get a serial number off the tranny, not just the case code... thatll help a little more....
