valves
run a compression test to see if any of the cylinders are noticably low. it could POSSIBLY be bent valves

Compression test. If you get low numbers on any cylinders do a leak down test.

if you can get a valve out you can put it in a drill and see if it appears to wobble. this is will not show if valve is just slighly bent. or you can pour coolant into the intake and exhaust ports and see if cooant leaks past the valves.
