Default tranny problem

i have a 93 civic ex automatic. when i drive between 45-50mph the car doesnt know what gear to go into. it goes back and forth from 3rd to 4th. also when i turn a corner the car either comes out of gear for a second or down shifts and when i straighten out it goes back in to the right gear. anyone ever have this problem or know what is wrong. the tranny fluid is full. possible ecu? i have a tranny and ecu from a 99 civic ex auto that im going to swap if this one is bad. is there anything else besides the ecu that i need to convert over? any help is greatly appreciated and no flaming!

Just a guess here, but if the tranny is hunting between gears doesn't that indicate a failing torque converter ???

Try checking your ATF (automatic transmission fluid).
Try resetting your ecu.

You can't use the 99 ecu in your 93 civic.

The 99 ecu is obd2b and your 93 civic is obd1.
I am not too sure if all the solonoids will plug into your harness, hence I dont know if the 99 tranny will plug & play, more then likely it will.

either fluid is low, or torque converter is done for.

around 45-50 they'll go in and out of lock up if ya slightly press on the gas and let off,
but if it's going into neutral around corners, most of the time that says picking up air!
so either low fluid level or if it's too full it'll foam up and do the same as a lil low
arent you the same girl that i told to get a stick last year when you were lookin at 93 civics?

Make sure you check the fluid when the car is up to tempature and cycle the shifter a few times.Im pretty sure you gotta check it in N or D also.

I dont think the 99 trans will work either. I tried something similar with a 99 automatic and a older JDM b16 auto trans. There were mainshaft and countershaft speed sensors that had to be converted then wires ran and it was a bunch of drama.
I think a bad torque converter would slip all the time and not at such a specific speed. You may have a bad TPS. There may be a dead spot at a certain throttle position and the ecm thinks your letting off the gas so it upshifts.
Sounds to me like a bad input to the ECM.Somethings telling it to change gears...
