CRX: Bogged down then stalled
Ok, So were going down 275, right before the exit to I-4 and all of a sudden the car starts bogging down like it wants to stall, but its in gear, No matter what gear it was in, It just didn't want to stay running, Backfiring and such. Pulled it into neutral, and it just stalled, coasted to the side of the road. So were trying to get it to start back up (Meanwhile we got it off 275) and it just cranks, and backfires. Checked the spark, All good, Checked the fuel from the fuel filter, all good, timing belt is fine, and properly timed. Now we just keep trying to crank it and get it to start, and it did start and idle for a second or two twice, but thats it.
Any insight?
By the way, Its a 90' Si

If it is not the rotor or main relay, it sounds like the TDC sensor inside the distributor. If that is your case, unless you know how to rebuild a distributor, you need a new one.

check the distributor rotor to see if the screw dropped out. seen this happen a bunch of times...the symptoms you described are exactly what happens when it comes loose. and don't think that having a good spark by checking it at a plug wire means that the rotor isn't loose....the rotor will still turn but it is way off from the timing it should be. pull the dist. cap off and check that rotor.

Yeah that was probably us, black CRX? We'll we were the only black CRX broke down on 275 o_o
BTW, Dizzy rotor people were right, that was the problem. (Couldn't get the cap off on the side of the road though)
