Putting timing back to factory setting
How exactly do I go about doing this? I have it bumped up to 18 degrees, but I'm tired of paying for premium fuel for 0 power gains or anything. It's an OBD-1 LS, if that makes a difference.

Buy a timing light.
Start car
Jump ecu
Open hood
Check timing (to be sure it's at 18 degrees)
Move distributor back to stock setting... I believe you move it twards the firewall
Check timing again
Repeat as necessery
Turn car off
Unjump ecu
Turn car on
Check timing again
Tighten dizzy bolts
If Im missing something, someone chime in.
The dizzy bolts are 12mm I believe.
The timing marks are difficult to see at first, there will be two pointers that you will have to line up with your eyes (one eye is easier). (IIRC)There will be 4 marks, TDC 10 20 30. The pointers are below the cam gears, and above the crank pulley. The timing marks will be on the crank pully itself, just point and shoot. It would be best to get a dial in timing light, they're about 60 bucks. Use and return. When hooking up the timing light, the clip wire goes onto #1 cyl (nearest the cam gears) and to the batery for power.
