yes a gsr crank will work but youll need gsr rods also. youd be de-stroking the motor from 1834cc to 1797cc and changing the rod/stroke ratio from 1.53 to 1.58. rod bearings generally cost around $80 for a set of 8 give or take 10bucks

You can use type-r rods on a GSR crank or Type-R crank w/ gsr rods etc.

Type-r rods are lighter & more balanced then gsr rods.
You should honestly just run an ls crank & rods, save your self some money & get a true 1.8L displacement.
The difference in Rod to Stroke ratio isnt that much.

Rod bearings are $8-13 each half depending on what dealer you use. Acl bearings are a cheap alternative, but I recommend oem bearings

Camp1320 or kteller.com should have acl bearing kits for 100 bucks which include the plastigauge and lubricants.

Would putting the GSR crankshaft not help in high revving power if not allow his motor to rev just a little bit higher?

IMO changing your rod & stroke ratio from a 1.54:1 to a 1.58:1 is not worth it unless your motor is going to be seeing 8-10k for long periods of times such as road racing etc.

Read up on rod to stroke ratio:
