will a crx exhaust fit a civic hb?

what if I go to a exhaust shop have them put a pipe 1 3/4" long in between the cat and the exhaust. would that do the trick? The reason I ask Is I can get a free exhaust off a crx. It sounds good and deep.

i just put a crx exhaust system onto my 91 hatch. jay preferred to cut towards the rear of the pipe and weld on the extension so that the fitment would be the same throughout. in other words the bends met in the same exact places throughout.
the new pipe was tig welded on. very clean.
