gsr block&ctr pistons=what compression gsr head

what would be the compression i see alot of people doing it on honda tech

deez92 03-30-2004 06:54 AM

around 11.9:1

99B16Si 03-30-2004 07:12 AM

the c-speedracing.com calculator says 12.0 with factory headgasket and unmilled head

it is a good bit higher than 12:1 with a gsr head. I'd say close to 12.3-4:1 due to the different comp[ression height compared to other b series piston. Basically running ctr's has the same effect as lopping 30 thousands off the block deck.

GET A BLOCK GUARD

You will be fine as long as your car has the proper fuel tuning to manage such a high compression ratio.

I highly recommend hondata or a fuel controller & some dyno time to tune your fuel.

I have built an ls/vtec w/ a simular c/r on a kenji p28 w/ 16 btdc timing & it runs fine, it had not been tuned yet & it has over 3k on it.

i just heard there might be some clearance issues. and also can i use some stage 3 cams. i really dont no to much about clearances

YOU may want to be CAREFUL with any cam lift over 10.8mm
