head diffrence?
how do you tell the difrence from a b16 head,and a typeR head?
the motor is in the car,and runing.is there any visual diffrence?
its suposed to be a 2000 model

look at the casting number or even the the model stamp a b16 head will have a black stamp on the rear with Pr3 or p30

there should be a date stamp on the head looks like a bunch of little dials that will tell you when it was cast as for waht type of head rangcrx may be right I'm not sure

also they will both say pr3... -Keith
An additional way to confirm is by the valvetrain.
The valvesprings should be dual springs for intake & exhaust on a type-r head, unlike the b16 which only has dual valve springs on intake side.
Also the camshafts have different markings, search the internet for pics of oem 2001 spec itr cams.
The head could have itr internals installed on it, then the only difference would be the factory p&p job which isnt that great anyhow.

wow first time i Tip my hat to you 92Cxhatch im impressed yes the codes will be the same did not think about being the same years the only True way is take that valve cover off or Undo your Ex.Manifold cause the TypeR will be Ported Meaning the hole will be larger...or also like mtber said look at the cam shaft it will have 2cuts at the end Near the distributo insted of the One like the C1 and b16's
