Default info on H22 swap in a lude...

alright. in my prelude as of now i have a f22b accord engine in it that comes in the prelude S model from 92-96.

i am plannin on swapping to a h22 vtec soon. i can get a h22 long block for 1000. now what i am wondering about is since i have a S model will the wiring harness still work for the h22 motor. i need to know wether or not i need to buy a complete swap or the long block would work with what i have in the car. i do know i will need the vtec ecu but other then that would everything else work? thanks

Your current transmission will bolt up to the H22A, but you will "fall out" of VTEC during drag racing. It will also hurt your E.T's due to its longer gears. Your best bet is to spend the extra money and purchase the full swap. Your wiring harness will work but you will need to add two wires. Your chassis is 92-93 as when I installed your cai I noticed it was pre-wired for VTEC. The swap is a snap and only takes a few hours. If you have any other questions, let me know.

i was planning on gettin a h23a tranny anyways.... what other 2 wires do i have to get for the long block swap to work? what is the price difference in the long block and the complete swap? you can still get me the long block for a grand plus tax right?

complete swaps usually run 2k+ shipping, if the swap has lsd they usually charge 300-400 more. Longblocks are usually 1k-1500 depending on what you get with the longblock, some are bare, some are pretty much complete swap minus tranny. The two wires you need can be taken out of the harness that comes with your swap, its very easy to do.
