shaving cylinder head

Default shaving cylinder head

whats the most i can shave it b4 i have problems. and what does shaving the head exactly mean. will it raise my compression

Shaving a cylinder head will increase your compression ratio but it will cause your cam timing to be retarded.

I do not recommend milling a head more then 20 thousands. I have heard of people milling their heads up to 40 thousands etc..

You will need cam gears to compensate for the timing adjustment you will see when you mill your head.

i shaved my gued head 20 thousands and it seemed do me good

JUST remeber if you mill your head more then .20 you need to shave your HEad seaters the round cylinders that hold the headgasket inplace for installing

i shaved my ls head .40 and it ran fine people told me that i would have a problem overheating but i didnt and like mtber said it retards your cam timing so u will need to get cam gears to get it correct and it ran like a champ i
