Over Heating
My 93 (189k miles) civic is beng suffering from over heating. The problem is being random. It will sometimes over heats while I'm driving on the high way. Some times while I drive on the city. Sometimes the car will not over heat while driving on these conditions.
The radiator is fairly new, there is enough fluid on the system, the fan works and the fan swith is brand new.
Since I'm not experiencing any coolant lost I'm assuming my water pump is not leaking. My guess is that the problem might be the thermostat. Let me know what you guys think about this. Thank you in advance for your commets.

replace the thermostat and flush the system..... if that doesnt work id check the water pump even if you dont notice a leak.... Also, try driving with your heater on for a while and see if it over heats still...

If your radiator cap has a leak, it can cause the system to overheat.

well when people say CAP you think cap and rotor not radiator cap ! and if it had a leak youd have lose of coolant and system pressure youd know if it was leaking ! he said no leaks ! m,ine was still funier ! always gotta ruin my fun !!!
actually this might sound dumb but look at the lili folds on the top of the radiator where the plastic part meets the folded aluminum. Ive had themcome in and it slowly leaks out at these points and its basicly unnotcicable. Bt its enough to cause overheating but if its random im gonna say a clog in the system.
