Will this throw the crank balance off??

take it out you will be fine. Might want to balance the crank though.

Good Luck and why are you doing this exactly? Might be easier to "make room" for the h-series tranny than retrofit a b-series. Either way hope it works out for you.

Actually since the flywheel you will be using will have material in the place where the usual prelude flywheel has a hole. Cutting the dowel off flush on the crank won't throw the balance off much at all as soon as the flywheel is bolted on. You are good to go.

I'd advise you before you cut that dowel off to put the prelude flywheel, set it at TDC and make permanent markings on the crank pulley and timing cover for TDC. Make sure to make it permanent like creating a slice in the crank pulley that corresponds to a clearly defined feature on the lower timing belt cover.

cut it then balance it grams can make alot of noise at high rpms. id reccomend drilling the flywheel they are easier to balance since its not inside the block. food for thought !
