NO shop is perfect. I had my car built by Spec-R (hehe....). I was going to have John @ LHT do it, but the price difference is why I decided to got Spec-R.
If you modify your car, your gonna blow something up....PERIOD. Whether or not it's on the street, or on the dyno, when you push things to their limit, things have a way of going bad.
DOes that mean a shop does poor work? nah. Maybe they missed something, or maybe they pushed too hard, but isn't that what we all want? The most HP for the least $$$? Somethings gotta give.

i had a `92 CX Hatch (duh) with a turbo GSR and hondata... and i took it to john for some tuning... my MBCwas hooked up kinda far away from the WG and john thought it to be a good idea to move it closer to the WG and zip tie to the the radiator support... so i went to the track and i had some of the nastiest wheel hop known to man... anyway the MBC fell off and the boost cut either didnt work or was not set... john says he set it and i have no reason to think other wise... anyway the motor cracked the #3 cylinder wall and that was the last time the hatch ran... she was parted out that week...
i just want to point out that i made 285.8WHP and 201.6WTQ on a STOCK B18C1 longblock on 8PSI... that is fucking sick... you show me one other person making that much power with that setup... i am still to this day proud of the tuning on that car... but that is the story... also you have to remember that everyone has had situations that have just made them more cautious about how they do things... it is called experience... so i think that either shop would be an alright call... but for a SC i say LHT and you will end up at SS for tuning anyway...
so that is the story of the slow hatch...

Ive had bad dealings with one member at SS but I have heard nothing but good things from people coming from that shop otherwise. Go talk to the people at both shops and see who gives you the best vibe about your car and go with your gut. There is enough good work out there for both shops to tell that they are both reputable so you probably cant go wrong with either.IMO

the guys at LHT are really nice and there projects and personal cars are amazing. there work is very nice and i would love for them to work on my car but i have a prelude. they will not do motor swaps or build a motor for a prelude. they dont work with H series motors. he did say that once i have everything in place and i wanted to turbo it he could hook me up with that. sucks that they wont work on ludes
