Default obd0 to obd 1 conversion

this question is coming from some things I saw in the hondata ? thread.

ya'll were saying that converting to obd1 is a better choice than obd0 when running a hondata setup.

I plan on getting hondata as part of my turbo kit. once I get all the parts together hondata will be my last item to buy then I'll be heading to secret services for the instal and tuning of the turbo and hondata.

here's the ? I have an 88 crx si with b16 swap and pr3 ecu, what would I need to go obd1? what ecu? about how much am I looking at spending to convert ( approximately ) ?

so the distro from say a 94 vtec delsol would work? and the 4 wire o2 thats just 1 o2 with the four wires running to it? you said that any ecu will work so does that mean my pr3 with the o2 and distibutor will work on the hondata s200 or will I definately need the p30 ecu with conversion harness to run the s200.

also do I need to worry about jdm vs. dsm on the parts for the conversion. and what car does the p30 come from?

I know its alot of ?'s but I have to ask or run the risk of getting to ss and not having it right.

thanks for the help.

vapor I just read through hondata's web site and for what I want it looks like the s200 with boost and 3 step rev limiter is all that I need to get, I'll have you guys do the tuning, I don't plan on running a full drag car that needs to be tweeked after every run or so. It also looks like the s200 with these 2 options is cheaper than getting the same choices in the stage 3b. Just to be sure I don't need all the dataloging and editor crap since you guys will be tuning correct?
where would i find a 4 wire o2 thanks again.

I don't recall what Jason charges for the conversion harness's, but I'm sure if you check his webpage http://www.jkobdconversionharness.com/ you'll find out how to contact him. Hope this helps!

i always wanted to do this, but will the odb1 distributor fit in the non odb wireharness?? also how do i get a 4 wire heated o2 sensor to work with a non odb o2 sensor? what about injectors?? sorry for all the questions, i never quite understood the non odb- odb1 conversion.. i always thought we had to change the whole wiring harness to convert.. if it is what you say, that easy, i'll start collecting parts tomorrow!!

you need to rewire the distributor plug, very easy. I converted my crx and several others to obd1 and it was always worth the effort.

You do not need to convert to OBD1 injectors. If you keep the resistor box, you can keep the OBD0 injectors. All you need to do is repin the distributor to have matching OBD0 or OBD1 plugs. You will disregard of the 1 wire O2 sensor with my harness and run a 4 wire O2 sensor. The ecu will need to be OBD1 as well. All my harnesses come with a lifetime warranty, killer service and tech support and best of all brand new OEM pieces. My harnesses are even built on the same machine that Honda uses to crimp the pins. All wires are pull tested and beat to death to insure a solid build.Your Harness
