Can i fix a chipped cylnder wall at the bottom of the blcok?
Is it possiable to fix a chip bout the size of a nickle at the bottom of the cylnder wall? it looks like it goes a half inch up not really that deep. It a d16y8 block on the #1 piston wall. just bought the damn thing and they said it was in perfect shape and very clean

check with a machine shop. they can hone it out and see where it leaves you.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. if that is the very bottom (I can't see it too well), just smooth out the edges so nothing is sticking into the cylinder bore and put small radius's on the sharp edges. You will be fine. On d-series motors with aftermarket rods you need to notch the cylinder walls already.
