every time I did a mini me swap I used the 1.5 timing belt(shorter)
the y8 is longer & will never tighten up on a 1.5 block.....my advice would be to get a 1.5 t-belt........

1.5L block with vtec head use 92-95civic VX t-belt
1.6L block with vtec head use 92-95EX(Z6) or 96-00 (Y8) belt
the Z6 AND the Y8 belts are exactly the same size...but Y8 is slightly less $$
