I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

I just got done hooking up a zex kit(55 shot) on my single cam hatch. Very impressive how much faster it is. I have heard alot of bad things about zex plugs. I use the same plugs for nitrous that i do on my turbo set up. NGK BKR7E-11. These plugs only cost $1.99 each. I put new plugs in every 2 weeks or so. It makes a difference. I have always loved zex kits. They are pretty safe. I cant belive how much i have spent on my turbo civic to make it run 11's. Then i buy a single cam hatch and it hauls ass with a little nitrous. I'm definately going to stick with the nitrous set up.

Ryan - The 3 prongs on top of the plug along with the cap part.

The Kit works great. The plug just broke off.

Hint Hint........Don't use Zex Plugs.

qitstrm - where can I get a some plugs with a heat range like that?

When using nitrous, the plugs to run are the NGK BKR7E.
NOT the 7E-11's. This is a different plug and while it works for turbos, the plain old 7E's work better for nitrous. Run them a step or 2 colder from stock, depending on how high your shot is. Do NOT run an Iridium, Platitinum or any other -um plug, Just a regular copper NGK BKR7E has been proven to be the most reliable and best working plug for nitrous.

As seen in the first post, ZEX plugs suck. If you haven't had problems with them, consider yourself very lucky. Continue to run them and you will have issues sooner or later.

How could heat take chunks out of the valve? Not that I don't believe you, I just want to understand better.

The motor has been rebuilt and the only problems were stated above (2 valves and a stiff piston). The rest of the motor look brand new.

My first thought was that the car ran lean. The only thing that made me think diff was the fact that I have been runing that same set up for well over a year. Nothing was changed.

But then again shit happens..........2 me

No more nitrous. Turbo is the next step.
