problem
one day i realized a few of my valves were tapping pretty loud. so being the stingy person that i am, i decided to adjust the valves myself instead of paying someone. so i get all of the valves adjusted just fine and i get to my last valve. i get to the far left exhaust valve, i tighten it to proper specs and begin to tighten the lock nut, but it wont stay tight to 10ft lbs and i realize im stripping the adjust screw. so every time i tighten the lock nut, the valve lash gets loose again!
so am i screwed?
P.S. it a d16a6 engine

well the nut isnt stripped, the bolt stripped itself inside the rocker so their both prettymuch stripped. anybody know where i can bet a new rocker arm assy. with the adjusting nut and bolt?? junkyard?
If so are all non vtec d-series rockers the same for compatability reasons?

Danny, I had this happen when building a friends lsvtec.
You can purchase the nut & bolt from honda for less then $20.
You do not have to purchase the whole rocker assembly.

well then can anybody tell me how to get it out without breaking anything?? its really stuck. because of it stripping, it cross threaded itself or something. it wont come out unless i vice grip the bitch and twist it out. thats my last resort.

You will probably need to replace the rocker and adjusting screw and nut . You will probably have to remove the rocker asm. any ways to get the adjusting screw out. I think it only comes out from the bottom (valve side) of the rocker because it it kind of flattened where the adjuster contacts the valve. You could always try to remove the good one right next to it to see if it can be removed from the top but I don't think you can. If you don't replace the rocker then you could try to re tap the threads if they aren't damaged too bad.
ok well i took of the valve train assy. successfully with no problems. now how do i go about taking off just one rocker? or does it not come off? oh and does anybody have a streetable cam i could buy? i had plans for this but now i have the head assy. off i could swap a cam in no time!
