Default tranny question..turbo related

i have an idea what the answer might be,just want to verify.

h22---h23 what is the difrences in gearing?

now if i were to turbo my h22,will it be better to run an h23 tranny?

the reason i ask is that someone said the gearing on the h23 is a little longer, but better for turbo.they also said it will fall out of vtec without a controler??hmm

thanks for the help!!

h22 trannys gears are much..much shorter..,better acceleration

problem is youll run out of gears very fast, the h22 i believe only tops out at 140 with stock redline, unless you have the newer 5th gen tranny, with the 4.2 final drive

you gotta also balance out the gearing with your spooling, if your gear arnt long enough for your turbo to spool properly your just wasting energy quicker with shorter gears.

oh yeah no doubt , im just saying lotta guys wanna chunk HUGE turbos and short gears like a T66 Type R makes no sense turbo i will never reach peak efficiency ! (sarcasim on the T66) But you see my point..

High rev engines+shortgears+small-medium fast spooling turbo= wickid QUICK car

High rev engines+med-long gears+medium-large turbo= moderatly quick, nasty fast car ! its all balance. Just research before you start tossing parts together. and dont look at just names and name brands !! Get what works and will last !
