Idle problems

ok, for no apparent reason, my idle just started messin up. I have a 95 hatch with a b16 and for some reason my idle now jumps from 1000-1500rpms continuously. before it would stay at a constant 750-800rpms. What might the problem be? how can i fix it?

vacum leak?

civicracer901 01-13-2004 03:35 PM

throwing any codes?

It's most likely the Idle Air Control Valve, the Throttle Postition Sensor, the PCV Valve, or just a vacuum leak.

my friend had the same problem, the rps jump up and down, then settle. we found out it was his vacum.

try cleaning out the screen on the Idle control valve with carb cleaner
you will need to remove it to do this....
