type-r pistons

Default type-r pistons

Does anyone know if jdm civic type r pistons will fit into a d16 engine? my friend wants to turbo his type-r engine and he said he will give me his pistons and what not and i was wondering if it will fit in my motor. thanks for the responses.

NO, B series with B series, D with D. Try doing some reading before spouting off.

Actually. A couple of years ago people were running those pistons in all out all motor d-series race engines. I forgot the name exactly but I think it was something like Jay Yuson had one. The block needs to be sleeved and heavily overbored to the point where head gasket failure is going to be a reoccuring problem. But they actuall will work. The valve throw angle is different in the d-series heads and the valve pockets in the pistons need to be reworked a bit if a big cam is going to be used.

So basically it will work theoretically but it is entirely unpractical to do so.

Just like supra pistons will work in a d- series block also.
