Default Need Help Wiring Vtec!!

I am doing a mini-me swap on my d16y7. I purchased a 2000 ex vtec head, 96 civic ex ecu, and a 99' ex intake manifold. I am going to keep it obd2 for now. I will do the conversion harness, and a p28 later. I just need to know where to wire in vtec on the ecu. I think you have to move 1 or 2 pins, not sure? Where do I run the 3 wires from the vtec silenoid. I have a 97 Civic Hatch I'm doing it to.

All the help would be appreciated.

Gabriel

okay here goes...

use your stock dx/cx engine harness. You will need to lengthen and move around most of the wires on the intake manifold to fit the y8 manifold.

IACV: On the y7 harness the iacv plug is three wires; blu/blk, yel/blk, and orange. The y8 iacv has two wires a blu blk and a yel/blk. Splice the matching wires together on the y8 two wire plug and just cut the orange wire a little short and tape it up so it doesn't contact anything. At the ecu you will need to move the blu/blk wire from A12 to A14. At pinout A13 the cut the orange wire away and tape it up.

Vtec Solenoid: Run the one wire from the vtec solenoid to A8 at the ecu.

Vtec oil pressure switch: There are two wires. Run the blk wire to a good ground. I use the thermostat gound. Run the blu wire to C15 at the ecu.

There you go. Sorry I forgot to return your pm. Tell Charles to call me if he still has not figured out his car.

Cool, thanks KJ. Quick question, I'm going to use my stock throttle body, and use the spring from a 92-95 or 96-00 ex throttle body, I'm pretty sure it will work. I found a 00' ex intake manifold, but without throttle body. Will I still need to convert the iavc, since I'm using the same throttle body that's on the car now? Also, which plug in the ecu is A, and do you read A1 at top left, and count to the right, A2, A3, etc...? Thanks for all the help.

Gabriel
