choosing engine management...???....
okay here we go, alot of you know me on here and i am stuck between engine managements, i know hondata gives the best tune for street driven cars, but i was looking at the AEM EMS, i would like osme input on this setup for my turbo civic si. the only thing i dont like about hondata (unless you buy the palm pilot thingy) is that if you need to make an adjustment to your car, or if you get a little itchy and want to run a littel more boost, you need to go and retune your car, am i correct? say you swap turbos, or cams, or even alter timing this will throw your program off. let me know if im wrong.
but on the other hand, the AEM set up can be used on your home pc or laptop and is very easy to use, so again,, i am stuck. i really dont want to blow like over a grand to get tuned up.
any info is great, i need to see both ends of the spectrum here

well for how much you pay for an aem ems you can afford to get a pimp ass palm pilot for hondata and get it tuned, Not to mention if you want John over at Secret Services to tune your car, you will definately want the hondata, he works wonders with that thing!!!

i have AEM. I feel it's the best. To get it fully tuned from my tuner $350. i run 12lbs. The map is good to 20lbs. So yes you can turn up the boost if you want. I also can monitor at all times A/F, Coolent Temp, Air intake temp. timing and so on. Basically you have full plug and play. The best part is you can manage and see exactly what is going on at all times. I would not want to be trying to stare at a palm pilot when i can look at a laptop. Also it has big red flashing warning signs if you exceed any pre set paramiter. As in overboosting or overheating. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Hondata works great and will get the job done. If you want more features or plug and play go with AEM.
i still have so many decisions to make. first i know the AEM has a built in boost controller, but can you trust it? also how long did it take you to learn how to use the AEM? next if i get aem then i have to buy a laptop or move my PC to the garage(funny). damn, i just dont want to be stuck not being able to tinker with my own shit ya know!!! because i would also like to get a new turbo as well and some other goodies but i just dont want to lose the ability to work on my own shit....
also this is hypothetical but play along... if you tune your car on hondata in the winter, will it drive the same in july in the heat, or will it be more likely to lean out and have other issues and such???

hopefully somebody answers that question i would like to know the answer too. I like the AEM unit also seems like more features to have at the tip of your fingers whenever you want. I can get a plug and play unit for your car for 1285 shipped if you can't get it cheaper then that PM me and we'll talk. Good luck
