Exclamation oil soaked plugs

I pulled the plugs on my D15b1 and they were all soaked with oil. I have have been told 2 things, that the rings are shot, or that the valve seats are shot. Is it either or, or both???

Do you have blow by? Stick your hand behind the exhaust while the car is running and see if there is oil on your hand. If not then it's most likely just the spark plug gasket things.

not to take the easy way out but isn't there some additive I can use for now that will thicken up the rings and seats???

Thicker oil should help a little, but it's an inevitable thing YOU NEED RINGS.
