idle problems
my car has a funky idle to it, when cold and first starting out it holds at nearly 3000 rpm and after it heats up it stays around 2000 rpm until it gets pissed and bounces from 900 to 2500, literally jumps to 2500 and falls to 900 and then jumps back to 2500 and so on I don't know what is broken.
the mechanic told me to just replace the stock engine when the problem started so I did about 4 months ago with a b17 that was doing fine idling at 750-800 until about a week ago. what can I do?

I do not know what mods you have done to your car, but they could be affecting your idle quality. I would check your fuel injectors. They could be too big or too small. Or else, their life has been exceeded.
(just my guess)

Jesus Christ, have none of you developed any experience with a Honda?

The damn thing is either carboned up so it's not seating properly, or has come unscrewed. You can pull the little plate off the back side of it and look for yourself... the further you screw it in the lower your cold idle is.

but what about the idle bouncing up and down when it is warmed up to normal driving temp?
