d16z6 or d16y8

Application will be a 91 DX Hatchback

I have to keep automatic - even though i want manual so let's just leave it at that, it's a long story...my dad paid for this car originaly and he is on the title...you get my drift

What is the difference between the d16z6 and d16y8?

Which one would be better for my hatch to use?

Many people said that i sould keep the tranny that i got, just cuz it's there and I shouldn;t go looking for trouble there if it's working fine.

Would a new racing radiator help out my performance?

 

I don't deal with the single cam stuff much buit if you are not planning to convert to obd1 electronics the stock si distributor bolts the y8 head I believe as opposed to massacreing it to fit a z6 head. Either way I'd highly suggest wiring to obd1 to use a p28 ecu and not some rigged up rpm switch.

 

the D16Y8 is better,....... the head flow is like a B16A
the intake mani is bigger & U Can Bolt up any B-series throttlebody,
I know OBD-1 IS BETTER , But IF your cheap Ucan use a 88-89 Tegra- ECU & use an activation switch
Ihave tuned this motor little & it made 125whp.

y8 is better. i got one in my hatch and i always beat cars with the z6. also since you have a 91 you could get the b16a1 with the cable tranny for pretty cheap
