Lightbulb Head Gasket help for 1991 Teg

I have a 1991 Integrea that needs a head gasket. Ive almost got the head off, but I cannot get to some of the bolts on the back of the intake manifold. Is there a trick to getting the head off without removing the intake?? Thanks

Nick

easy if you got a air impact 3/8's and a 12mm socket or if you go the money get a cheap 1/4 cut it short plus you nee room take off the alt and bracket

yes Crix is good, give him a call to help you cause you have to also make sure you line everything back up perfect when you put that head back on or it will not be pretty

which bolts are u referring to? the ones that hold the intake manifold to the head or the ones for the bracket that connect the intake manifold to the block?

man all you need is a long extension and a short 12 socket. A swivel 12mm socket would help, they are about $8 from Sears.

When you reach a point where you can't get to a nut or bolt, you have to stop and adjust your position, use a different hand, get the proper tool, look at the job from a different perspective...

These things make any job much easier...

Theres always an easy way to remove a bolt or nut...Just take your time and work where you are in a comfortable position...

you dont remove the intake manifold when you replace the head gasket. In fact, it makes a goo grabbing spot for lifting the head. Just take out those 12mm bolts that hold the brace to the im and pull the bitch str8 up. Only remove the exhaust manifold.

And why are you removing the alternator to change a head gasket?
