Default Question

I was wondering if it was ok to take the cover off the stock intake and leave it like that.

Is this a good idea ?? will i get more air or is it a waste of time.

Secondly would a civic intake manifold fit on a ls ? and if it could would it be worthwhile

which civic intake manifold? and as far as i know, taking the cover of the filter element should hurt anything. but get a SRI, you'll be glad you did.

Waste of time, just leave it. At most just take the resonator box off the inside of the fenderwell until you can get a real intake.

NO those manis are not interchangeable, it matches to which series (ie b, h, f, d etc) there are some exceptions, but i won't get into those now.

If you are talking about taking off your filter, DON'T, your engine needs things filtered out. Get a K and N filter or a short ram intake.

Thanks for the manifold answer.

About the intake. SHould i just replace the stock filer with a K&N one then remove the whole box lookin thing so it can resembles a short ram.

Yes, remove the box and put the K&N on there.

update: well i removed to top part of the box. I kinda noticed a little increase. It makes a whooshin soft muffler sound, kinda cool well i get my k&n filter later this week. I see how this goes.

For those who are wondering y i just dont buy a short ram. Im saving to buy a turbo kit i doubt ill be using my short ram then.
