Default Problem after installing accord struts w/ 1inch shorter strut body on a crx.

Im not to sure if anyone has read about the 86-89 accord strut install on 88-91 civics and crxs. its suposed to give you about one more inch of travel when using coilovers becasue of the shorter strut body. Well I did this install and the car sits a little to low, my 205/50/16s rub on the fenders, I need the car to be about 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch higher, the problem is that when I jack up the car to raise the sprigs I cant raise them anymore because they are under pressure. I was thinkings of taking the nut off the strut rod and letting it slide down, out of the shock tower into the fender well and then raise the spring. Finally I would lower the car slowly and guid the strut rod back into the shock tower.
Anyone have any thoughts, on if this would work or not or have any other suggestions on how to get this car raised up some? TIA

I loosend the perch and adjusted it, but the spring is spun up so high that is is starting to compress. Anyways I got it figured out, all i had to do was loosen the nut that holds the rod through the strut tower and let it drop down some. It took the tension off the spring so that I could raise the perch about 1/2.

I've done this in the past, it does work. Your wheel rubbing is your offset of the wheel, need to get a taller offset 45+ or have more (-) camber in the front.

Most Jap wheels have the taller offset you need,
