Default Strut placement correct?

Mechanic was supposed to install camber kit today. Took off tire and saw this:

Said the first arrow is supposed to be down where the second arrow is and I should have it checked @ the shop that did the install for me. Just wanted to run it by you guys and see if I could get a second opinion. By the way that's Neuspeed sport spring on Tokico HP strut

The strut has a notch on the back side of it to line up with the suspension fork's gap.

So, there is really only one way to install the strut.
(the only way it will sit all the way down onto the fork)

Just loosen the 14mm bolt and give the strut a shake...It will drop down as far as it will go, then just tighten it up...

No, you need to slide it down until it won't go any farther, it needs to be resting on that lip thing.
