Default CV Joints

Last week I replaced the passenger side outer CV boot on my 96 teg. Today it started ticking again. I looked under the car and the new boot had split. What possible made the boot split. It was a complete boot not the cheap ones that you enclose with screws and nuts. Just so you know this isn't my first time so I have plenty on machanical knowledge.

Is their to much play in the CV joints or did I fasten the clamps to tight. HELP!!!!!!!!!!1

Is your car lowered?
What motor mounts do you have?
When is the last time you had an alignment?

I would just spend the $75-80 and replace the axle and make sure you check the rest of your suspension components.

I dont know how your boot ripped again but once it starts ticking the damage is done, you need to replace the axle to stop the ticking.

if you have this one replaced and it does it again you should check for something maybe rubbing it or hitting the boot from your car being lowered and going over bumps.

i would definitely suggest replacing it and if u can roll the car up on ramps so u still have a load on the suspension and get under the car and thouroughly inspect around the boot to see if anything is anywhere close to it that may rub while driving....

Make sure you're not stretching the boot out when you're installing it. It needs enough slack to move back and forth without stressing the boot.

And no...don't buy a Napa axle.
