good place to install guages?

Haynes manual of course... if you dont have that book invest $20.
If you are talking about the screws that hold down the oem gauges then you need to unscrew them to hold down your indiglows too.

p.s. wiring was a bitch for me.. i own a civic and the one that finally worked was the black one (a little thicker than the otehrs) on the top of the gauge cluster.. problay other ones that work too.
