I have a 94 civic lx and Im getting a check engine light. The car runs fine but idles funny every once in a while. What is the procedure to find out which code its throwing? I dont remember exactly but im sure plenty of people here do. Thanks guys

 

there a jumper right above the ecu behind the passenger kick panel. u need to complete the circuit on that jumper. then look at the cel(while the key is in the on position) for ever one long flash it makes, it equals 10, for every short flash it equals 1. add them upp and u got your code.

your best bet it to take it to a friend who knows what theyre doing. itll take them 1 minute, but may take you a half a day

 

Which pins do I connect from the jumper and the ECU? I have the idea down but its been a few years since Ive done it and in all honesty I couldnt find the time to take it by Colins shop and have him check it out.

Is there a site that shows all of the codes?

Thats what Im thinking as well but a new one is like $260. Wanted to make sure before spending the $$. Why doesnt anyone post on how to check the code ?

 

because its really hard to explain

 

the jumper is 2 wires, just take a paper clip and put each end in the pin holes to connect the circuit. then turn the key but dont start the engine and wait for the cel to flash the code/codes.
