Question ls motor bogs down at 5k rpm

just got a 98 ls motor in an eg civic. runs great, except when i hit between 4 and 5 k rpm. could it be a bad distributor? incorect timing? or could it be since its obd 2 and i have no o2 sensor? thanks for the help.

the no o2 sensor whould throw up a code (i get one), but bad distributor would defently cause a misfire, or timing is off.

yeah timing is what i would check first after u check the codes that it is throwing after u get the codes out of the way then see where u stand but when u say it bogs at 5000k rpms does it go past 5 or stop there or bog from 4-5 then its fine good luck getting it up and running right

get a o2 sensor, that should fix the problem. Its probably running rich at high rpm since it cant detect you a/f

i dont know if just a o2 sensor would cause that. its definitly possible since its on and odb2 car they suck. when my oxygen sensor went bad it didnt do anything but get a little worse mpg. all cars are different good luck

Ur right not having a o2 shouldn't cause that to happen....drop it off on monday nick so we can tap ur pipe for a O2 sensor and swap out dizzy to see if thats the problem...timing is ok already checked it...but will go over again on Monday.....
