Diesel Honda? Yep
Has anyone heard about the new diesel engine that honda is going to produce? This is going in the euro accords. It will only have 138 hp out of the 2.4, but will have 250 ft lbs of tq at 2000 rpm. I wonder why honda would start the production of this? Comments?

probably because in europe diesel cars are alot more popular and make more sense economically. with gas prices at $4.00/gallon and up, you'd want the most economy you could get.
I'm sure Honda just needed a better selling point for the accord over there, since just about every other manufacturer has at leasts as many diesel cars in production over there as they do gasoline.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

diesel fuel is cheap and diesel engines are very effiecent and get great milage.
b/c of the cost of fuel in europe, that's a good call by honda. just about every other manufactuer has a line of small, fuel efficent diesels, so honda is just following suit.
