Replacing Cam Seals?
Who here has replaced their cam seals?
Mine are leaking and I have never replaced them before and was going to try and replace them tonight myself, since money is very tight right now.
I went to Acura and purchased the seals (with new valve cover gasket and spark plug seals). If anyone can offer any advice or help, I would appreciate it.

very easy process. but unfortunately u need to remove the cams and timing belt. just make sure u have silicone and a timing light. shouldnt take longer than 30 minutes to an hour at the most. let me know if u need help, goodluck

I did mine with David on my SOHC. What was nice is he made a mig shift seal puller. So we didn't have to remove the cam. Since he was instructing me it took about an hour to hour and a half. I didn't find it hard.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

then how do u plan on getting the timing side seals off????? the long "trays"(I dont know the real name for them) run completely across the cams and hold down all the caps. therefore u cant take off the caps without unbolting those trays, which hold the cams down. goodluck changing your seals with the cams still in.

u may be able to squeeze them out without removing the cam but either way, the cam gears need to come off, and so does the timing belt because of that, which is the more complicated part...the rest is just bolts
