Default 1/2 rant 1/2 tech

OK. Ive owned the teg for a month now, and i have made sure to pound into my fiancee that she needs to check the oil weekly as well as tell me when she reaches the 3000 mark so i can change it..

SO i drive the car today and it feels wierd, also makes an odd noise at 2000rpm to about 4000 or so where its drowned out by the intake and exhaust then.

I stop the car and check the oil... I had maybe 2.5 quarts outta 4 - 4.5 in there..........

I also knowtice the car is about 800-1000 miles past the 3K mark for changing

So i pulled into mobil, put in some x-tra 10w40.... it still makes this noise..

Car drives smooth and normal, there is no smoke outta the exhaust and no smell of burnt oil at all, never was.... and i'm thinking i remember this sound from way way before but it never bothered me..

I'm changing the oil+filter today, driving it 20-50 miles then changing oil and filter again to try and flush it out....

So whats the worst that coulda happened? I know in the end the absolute worst is that i have to rebuild, but what could be my possible problems here? I know stock GS-R's say 5000 for a change in the manual (but i dont know about built motor GS-R), so i'm hoping that figure is keeping me "somewhat" safe, and hopefully its just plain bulletproof enough to survive a week or 2 with lower than normal oil (its prob been slowly burning or leaking...).

So gimmie the verdict... as well as whatever symptoms would lead to the verdict

You should be fine as long as she wasn't romping it in Vtec all the time. Did the oil look burnt?

well if it was burnt then it would smell... and it wasnt adhering to the dipstick either....

Looks dirty like it needs a change.

I dont think she winds the car out often,.. but def shifts at 4

Its not an additive...It replaces your oil completely...But its too viscous to replace all of your oil...Run 2.25 quarts of 10w30 and 2 quarts of Lucas Oil Stabilizer if you have lubrication problems...
