Default Clutch Question..

Within the past few weeks I have noticed a change involving the releasing of my clutch. Now it still grabs hard as hell! But for some reason it is not releasing at the same spot any more. It used to release about a 1/2 inch from being all the way out. Now it releases basically whenever it wants to. Which sucks because sometimes it sounds like Im riding the clutch, but in all actuality it has begun to release at a point that it hasnt in the past. I advised a friend of mine about this and he said something about adjusting the 'bushing' I forgot the word he used, lol, but anyway he said it was just an adjustment I can make to tighten it and then I would fix the problem.
Can anyone assist me with figuring this out or tell me how to fix it? I'd greatly appreciate it! This situation has become somewhat of an daily annoyance.

OK, so it's safe to assume that no one knows about clutches?

Theres no adjustment of the clutch on Hydraulic systems...It sounds like you have a sticking throwout bearing...Do you hear a whistling noise in neutral, when you have your foot off the clutch pedal?

The only thing you can do is pull the tranny off, inspect the parts, put a little Lube on the input shaft and replace the throwout bearing...

Just a Touch of lube since you don't want any oils on your clutch at all...

if its engaging in a different spot than it used to then your clutch is wearing out. listen to see if the tranny makes any different noises when the clutch is engaged vs. disengaged, this will let u know if there is something wrong with the release bearing(which i doubt)

Yes it is engaging in a different spot than it used to...it engages in any given spot now. **shitty**
So, in your opinion, you're thinking that it may be time to buy a new clutch then?

BTW- I turned on my car and listened for any sounds with the clutch engaged and disengaged. And there is a difference in noise. It sounds faster/louder with the clutch engaged and then when I release it, it almost sounds like it is winding down. I dont know if you kinda get what Im trying to relay -hard to explain. But there is also high pitched sound that starts when i release the clutch. Yeah, so I have no freakin clue what any of this means. But I hope it helps you figure it out. lol

If you are hearing a noise after you release the clutch in neutral, then you indeed have a sticking throwout bearing and need to pull the tranny off, inspect and replace the neccessary clutch parts...You need to check for overheating of the clutch disc and the pressure plate...Replace the throwout bearing for sure...If the clutch is not slipping, then you don't need to replace the clutch disc...

Thanks Zee for the advice. It looks like I will have to be doing some work on my car then to replace the throwout bearing. Luckily the clutch is not slipping so I dont have to worry about replacing the clutch disc right now.
