i have a 99 gsr with about 65k miles on it. about 2k miles after every oil change its empty. my f-in bumper is turnin black as well. i have a cold air intake on my car and the rubber arm that connects the filter to the manifold has a bunch of oil build up in it. and the little hose that runs off of the filter also seems to have a little oil in it.......whats goin on!!!! is it the pcv? how do i find it and does anyone have a picture of where it sits?

Your oil rings have probably gone bad.
Time to re-ring the engine. A compression/leak-down test should tell the tale.
There is a product that is "supposed" to help with that, you add it in every oil change.
You're probably losing some power because of this, so it's best to 1. Not get on the car hard, because it will just get worse from here, and 2. Get it fixed ASAP.
Rings are about $100 bucks for the set from Acura, labor is going to be expensive however, anywhere from $400-$1000.
You can drive on this for a long time before anything really goes, your just going to be smoking more and more and burning more and more oil.... Just keep an eye on the dipstick.

Piston rings. Entire set. 4 pistons, 3 rings each piston (2 compression 1 oil). Providing that is the only thing wrong with the engine, it's not extreemly costly if you can do it yourself.
Labor is about 8-10 hours if you have all the tools and know what your doing.
I would not recommend this to anyone but a mechanic who knows how.

Question: What is the purpose of the PCV valve and what are the symptoms when it goes bad?
Answer: PCV means positive crankcase ventilation. This valve uses vacuum from the intake manifold to draw the fumes from the crankcase. Symptoms of a faulty PCV valve are poor idle and excessive pressure in the crankcase.

Now Im not very familiar with PCV's as my civic doesn't have one. However, your symptoms are those of shot rings. Take it to a shop that can perform BOTH a Compression, AND a leak-down test. A leak-down uses compressed air, so be sure they know what they're doing. Some shops confuse the two.. don't ask me how.
Do this to get definate results man.

I have seen pcv valves go bad and oil clog up the intake manifold.
Then the oil gets sucked into the combustion chamber, then out the muffler and onto a bumper. Pretty much the same thing your describing. I cant be a 100% but since you car is so new and since pcv valves are so much cheaper than piston rings I would try one of those first and see how that turns out.
