Default Need some help with a clutch problem?please help

94integra ls
so my clutch started to get too easy to push and closer to the floor, couple days later i began to have a problem putting the car in any gear, then the next day it would not go into any gear and it would just grind. the gears move fine when the car is not started. do i need to replace the whole clutch kit or could it be the slave cylinder. please help, car has been out of service for a week, not sure what to do, what parts to buy, and where to get the job done without being raped on prices. thanks

andrew

usually, the clutch master cylinder goes bad. look under your dash where the clutch pedal pushes the actuator. see if theres brake fluid leaking down into your carpet

I was under the assumption that the slave cyl would go before the master cyl.
But it makes sense that a slave would fail before a master. It’s the slave cyl that is closet to the pressure plate.

You can always check the slave by sticking your finger in the small boot, or it my be bad enough that it is dripping out of there.
