Just like it says, I'm trying to find out on how to break the OEM welds. What I'm trying to do is to take my old radiator support. It's all welded together. Someone told me you have to drill 'em out. Is it true? Can anyone on here do it for me?(For money, of course). Thanks.

Hey cronic you do have to drill them out, they are actually called spot welds. . . . . You do not want to take a Plasma or Sawzaw to them.. . . . . . . . . . . Just a drill will work. . . . . .I have the 94 civic11s for sale and I grafted the 98 front end on I went threw the trouble already (real pain in the asses). . . . . . hope I was of help to ya. . .later

grinder dude, welds are going to be a bitch to drill through, they will be harder than the actual steel itself.

 

And plasma will definitely work, if you have one powerful enough, the one i have access to can cut up to 3/8s.

 

if its a spot weld you can drill it out.if it was weleded along the seams(tig or mig) you will need to use a plasma cutter or sawsall.If it is a pain in the ass go to a welding shop and they will probably just charge you there minimum fee.

 

Get a fucking grinder. Also, you can spot weld with a mig or tig, all it is is welding one SPOT. What you seem to be talking about is stick welding (arc welding). Welding along the "seams" is called stitch welding.

 

i have a spot weld cutter. it takes 1 minute per weld
