My 1st gear sucks.......................
OK, let's say I'm racing. I got an Si so I launch it at a lil bit over VTEC which is about 5800-6000. After it launches.....The RPM's just drop. ANd it feels as if I'm downshifting rather than accelerating. As soon as I hit second, the car jumps and begins to pull as if I have a camshaft upgrade or somethin. Is it just my lame ass drivin skillz or could it be a problem with the drivetrain and the tranny. BTW I do have 17's on this car. Someone said it's the rims but after the drove it they were'nt to sure on what the prob was. Help me out and let me know what should be the first step in this problem-solver. No dick head answers either.

Launch at 2000 - 3000 rpm. Your RPMs are taking a crap cause the engine can't turn faster than the tires and the rubber is slowing it down. Also Vtec starts at around 4500rpm.
Finally launch at a lower RPM, trust me, just try it.

U said VTEC is at 4500? In what car? My VTEC kicks in at 5500 like a normal 6th gen Si..........BUt at that low of RPM's I cant get any kind of jump.....AT ALL!!! but i'll try it again. Thanx man

yeah thast more like it lol 5800 is way to high, i mean how do you even think your going to get traction? i used to have a tsi awd and 5k is a high launch.

lol............. I'm not spinnin out like an 800hp supra or anything. The car will jump and then just drop......I really think those rims are way too heavy. BUt yeah I'll try tomorrow. Got a spot out near faulkenburg called "the proving grounds" we'll see how it goes, I'll keep you guys posted on my weak ass drivin skillz

Either way, you can't launch that high.
Honda = no torque, thus your not gonna have a jump off the line, pretty much ever.
High RPM Launch = no traction, and your RPMs are gonna crap out till your tires catch up. So either get slicks or launch at a lower RPM.
