EK h22 mounts?
ok ive been reading about the mounts now, and not sure which company i should go with...Place Racing or HCP. ive read that the Place Racing mounts put the motor towards the front of the engine bay which causes stress to the axles and leads to breakage. HCP claims to have the motor mounted to the rear which relieves the axles stress and also improves upon the steering. i was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with either mount kits? any feed back, info ect would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks

I haven't used the hcp kit for the ek but I have used the one for the eg and was VERY pleased with it. EK kit should be just as good.

HCP all the way. I have had them in my h22 eg for 6 months and only broke one set. And thats because they were junnkyard axles. People also said with place racing mounts there motor vibrated a lot when driving. Mine never did that.

I love them!!! the only thing you wont like is the non power steering but you'll get over that when you feel the motor and your fine when driving but trying to turn around isn't so fun but hey the h22 is da shit I don't care what anyone says only had mine for a half a day and I'm in love I want to drop another h22 in a crx

btw KJ is very good at it very clean wiring and all

thanks for the help. one other question, HCP offers a front cross member with motor mount made onto it. the 400 dollar set comes with the motor mounts and a/c bracket, while the 525 set features the front cross member mount...is it worh the extra money?

Ive never used HCP's. Ive seen a lot of good looking HASport mounts though.
However, recently Ive heard, and seen several broken HASport mounts.... :/

I love my billet Hasport mounts.
It would take aa bad car wreak to brake those thick billet hasport mounts. Hasport mounts are the cream of the crop but they are pricey and as far as HCP is concerned they are a VERY good alternative. I worked on an H22a 98 civic that had the front crossmember mount and it looked pretty good. Can't think of any downsides to it, maybe a good fabricator could even tie into it and setup a radius rod traction bar system.
Alan, the mount is incorporated into the beam and a bracket bolts to the front of the h22a bloc, it uses the stock bracket too.
